How Much Does It Cost to Finish a ReelShort Drama?

Data updated Facts checked

A typical drama has 45 paid episodes. At 60 coins an episode, that is about 2,700 coins.

What that costs in dollars depends on the pack you buy the coins in: $13.50 to $26.95 for the coins themselves, from the cheapest to the dearest coin. The cheapest single pack that covers the whole drama is $29.99.

How the paywall works

A drama opens with its free episodes, and the number differs from drama to drama (see Is ReelShort Free?). After them every episode costs coins. ReelShort's coin guide puts a standard episode at 60 coins.

ReelShort's cost guide also mentions an auto-unlock setting that lets you swipe from one episode to the next without waiting. It is worth knowing about if you want to keep an eye on your balance.

Coin packs

Bigger packs come with more bonus coins, so a coin costs less. The table lists the packs of the web store and the ones in ReelShort's coin guide, because the two lists do not match.

Two things to read in it. The price of a coin falls from about 1.00¢ to 0.50¢ as the pack grows. And the column of dramas one pack can finish shows how far a pack goes: the share of dramas whose paid episodes fit in it.

The prices were read on October 29, 2026. The app stores can show other prices, and ReelShort's guides say that prices and bonus coins change with the region and with promotions.

What a whole drama costs

The paid episodes times 60 coins give the coins a drama needs. Times the price of a coin, that gives dollars. Here it is for a drama at the low end, a typical one and one at the high end of the catalog, at the dearest and at the cheapest coin of the table above:

Price of the coins that unlock every paid episode
DramaPaid episodesCoinsAt the dearest coin (about 1.00¢)At the cheapest coin (about 0.50¢)
Low end (10th percentile)15900$8.98$4.50
Typical (median)452,700$26.95$13.50
High end (90th percentile)663,960$39.52$19.80

The dollars in the last two columns are the price of the coins a drama uses. Packs come in fixed sizes, so you will rarely use every coin you buy. The cheapest single pack that covers a typical drama is the $29.99 one with 3,900 coins, which leaves 1,200 coins for the next drama. The coins you buy do not expire, according to ReelShort's coin guide, so they are not wasted, only paid for early.

VIP instead of coins

VIP is the other way to pay. The web store lists it at $19.99 a week, with $9.99 for the first week, $39.99 a month and $199.99 a year. ReelShort's guides say VIP removes ads, and the App Store listing says that while the subscription is active you can watch all the series for free.

A week of VIP costs as much as the coins for about 33 to 67 episodes, at the dearest and at the cheapest coin. If you plan to watch more than that in a week, VIP is the cheaper way. If you want to finish one drama and stop, coins are.

VIP renews by itself until you cancel, and deleting the app does not cancel it. Is ReelShort Legit and Safe? has the details on cancelling.
