Is ReelShort Legit and Safe?

PlotFans is an independent site. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by ReelShort or its developer.
ReelShort is a real service with named companies behind it, not an anonymous app. It is listed on the App Store (rated 4.7) and on Google Play (rated 3.8), and its terms of use name Crazy Maple Studio, Inc. as the other party.
"Legit" does not mean "no catches". What to watch is how you pay: VIP renews by itself, the terms call coin sales final, and the terms say the service is not for anyone under 18.
Who is behind it
The store listings show the publisher as NewLeaf Publishing. ReelShort's terms of use are an agreement with Crazy Maple Studio, Inc., and both store listings link to that company's privacy policy. The App Store listing also links its terms of use. The terms and the privacy policy are public, and the links are under Sources at the bottom of this page.
On October 29, 2026 the App Store showed a rating of 4.7 from 517K ratings, and Google Play showed 3.8 from 1.96M reviews. The two stores have different crowds, so the ratings are not directly comparable.

Search results can show look-alike apps. Before you install, check that the publisher shown on the listing is the one named above.
What to watch for
VIP renews by itself. The App Store listing says the subscription renews automatically until you cancel, and is billed weekly. The terms of use say you can cancel at any time on the VIP page in the app, and that a cancellation stops the charges for future periods. Deleting the app does not cancel it, as ReelShort's membership guide points out. To cancel on an iPhone, open Settings, then your Apple ID, then Subscriptions. On Android, open Subscriptions under Payments and subscriptions in Google Play. The App Store listing says to cancel at least a day before the renewal date, and the terms say a request made on the billing date itself is still charged up to the next billing date.
Coin sales are final. The terms of use say all sales of virtual currency are final and non-refundable, except as the company decides at its own discretion. The terms say coins are forfeited if the account or the service is closed, and they cannot be moved to another account.

Age and content
The terms of use say the service is strictly for consumers and not for anyone under 18. The stores rate the app lower: 13+ on the App Store, and "Teen" on Google Play, whose listing adds "Diverse Content: Discretion Advised". The privacy policy says the company does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If a teenager at home wants to watch, look at what the dramas show before you install it.
